ERICSSON GAINS CONTRACT FROM TELECOM AUSTRALIA

STOCKHOLM-Telecom Australia has placed an order with L.M. Ericsson valued at $42 million for Advanced Mobile Phone Service infrastructure equipment.

The equipment will enable Telecom Australia to expand its network, which presently claims more than 2 million subscribers. The existing network already covers major cities, provincial centers, snow fields and major highway links throughout the country, the company said.
