PLANO, Texas-Paging Network Inc. has given CNET Inc. an increased engineering design consulting role in the development of PageNet’s two-way, narrowband network.
CNET, also based in Plano, provides RF design and operational support system software for the wireless industry.
PageNet, the nation’s largest wireless messaging company, holds three licenses to build and operate narrowband personal communications services. The two-way network is scheduled to be commercially available in 1996.
PageNet also has purchased CNET’s Wireless Network Graphics System, or WiNGS. PageNet has committed to a long-term license for the 2.6 RF design software, which it will use for in-house design and analysis of paging products.
