DELRAY BEACH, Fla.-Sims Communications Inc. said it will install Instafone cellular rental machines at four more international airports, in Anchorage, Alaska, Baton Rouge, La., Richmond, Va., and Reno, Nev. These airports give Sims access to more than six million travelers annually and could generate about $275,000 each year, the company said.
Installation should be completed this quarter. Instafone machines are freestanding, require no on-site personnel and can dispense cellular phones 24 hours a day. Sims said many cellular offerings are made at car rental sites, but 90 percent of airport travelers do not rent cars. Instafone sites will be placed in baggage claim areas.
Instafone currently has machines in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn., airport and Tulsa International Airport in Oklahoma. Delray Beach, Fla.-based Sims anticipates annual revenue from these two sites to exceed $400,000.
