RCR Publications Inc. has named Elizabeth Voisen Mooney its New York bureau chief, and hired veteran wireless journalist Debra Wayne in its Washington, D.C., office.
Mooney will be responsible for reporting wireless communications business and financial news from New York. Prior to joining RCR, Mooney was a freelance writer for five years, covering issues ranging from stock and bond redemptions to industrial waste management. She has more than 12 years experience as a staff reporter, previously working for New York-based City and State, a former Crain Communications Inc. business and finance magazine focusing on governments.
Wayne has joined RCR as a Washington reporter and will work with Washington bureau chief Jeffrey Silva. With more than 15 years experience in the wireless industry, Wayne recently served as managing editor of Communications Today, an electronic daily publication targeted at telecommunications executives, owned by Phillips Business Information. She also has worked for BIA Consulting Inc. as a manager of the company’s mobile communications products. At BIA, Wayne authored two books on the paging and specialized mobile radio industries in cooperation with the Personal Communications Industry Association.
