`LIFE SAVER’ BILLBOARD PROMPTS CALLS FOR HELP

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.-A billboard put up in mid December by Alltel Mobile Communications Inc. caused quite a stir in Little Rock, Ark., as motorists along Interstate 30 dialed 911 on their cellular phones to help save the life of a man hanging dangerously over their heads. The billboard, which featured a mannequin hanging from the extended antenna of a cellular phone, prompted numerous cellular calls to emergency services because people believed the mannequin was actually a person jumping the adjacent Arkansas River bridge.
