RICHARDSON, Texas-Ericsson Inc. announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding to supply personal communications services infrastructure equipment to InterCel Inc.
Ericsson said it will supply its Global System for Mobile communications-based equipment for the Birmingham, Ala., Jacksonville, Fla., and Memphis, Tenn./Jackson, Miss., major trading areas. The MTAs cover 9 million potential subscribers, said Ericsson. The network equipment includes mobile switching centers, base station controllers and base stations.
