L.M. Ericsson has announced its new stock of Global System for Mobile communications phones designed to offer greater choice and flexibility to the consumer.
The new family comprises the GH338 model, which follows the GH337, as well as a new model, the GA318, available in three colors, Ericsson said. The GH338 is among the lightest phones with international capability and offers up to 275 minutes of talk time and 80 hours of standby time. The design incorporates a new display screen layout, a clock and date facility, a calculator and the ability to send and receive short written messages to other mobile users. The phone also allows for data and fax transmission.
Motorola licenses ReFLEX to Uniden
Motorola Inc.’s Advanced Messaging Systems Division said it licensed its two-way messaging protocol, ReFLEX, to Uniden America Corp.
The licensing agreement gives Uniden the ability to design, build and sell ReFLEX two-way personal messaging devices for the narrowband personal communications services market, Motorola said.
