FORT MEYERS, Fla.-Palmer Wireless Inc. announced it has reached a preliminary agreement to acquire the Georgia 1 Rural Service Area cellular telephone license from United States Cellular Corp.
The license covers northwest Georgia between Chattanooga, Tenn., and Atlanta and contains about 218,000 pops. Palmer said the acquisition will increase its total population served to about 3.5 million people.
