PageTap has developed a pager that translates either numeric or alphanumeric paging messages into eight switched outputs. The company said the PT8-OC can be used to remote control virtually any application within range of any digital radio paging system. The product can receive its signal from a receiver that either plugs on the PT8-OC circuit board or is externally mounted and connected through the connector on the unit, the company said. Signal audio is decoded by the unit and transferred to eight open collector outputs. The outputs supply a ground to drive an external relay or logic device and can be individually programmed to either latch until signaled again or set to time delay. (303) 337-4811.
Illinois Superconductor Corp. announced the introduction of two high temperature superconducting filter products designed for use in both digital and analog cellular operating environments. The new SpectrumMaster models, Q45K-A3A and Q45K-B3A, are compatible with both Code Division Multiple Access and Time Division Multiple Access cellular digital protocols, as well as the analog Advanced Mobile Phone Service protocol, the company said. The filters are designed to provide improvements in adjacent band interference rejection and insertion loss performance, which results in increased receiver sensitivity and reduced noise floor in the cells. According to Illinois Superconductor, this improved performance should allow cellular operators who deploy SpectrumMaster filters to offer their customers higher call quality and greater system access in high-call volume sites.
