OVERLAND PARK, Kan.-The national wireless alliance of AirTouch Cellular, Bell Atlantic Corp., Nynex Corp., U S West NewVector Group and PrimeCo Personal Communications L.P. announced they have signed a contract with Independent Telecommunications Network Inc. to provide Signaling System 7 seamless roaming and enhanced call setup capabilities. The contract marks the renewal and expansion of ITN’s separate contracts with each cellular carrier to provide IS-41 transport.
Paging Partners gets placement of $1.5M
FREEHOLD, N.J.-Paging Partners Corp. announced its board of directors has approved a $1.5 million private placement of the company’s common stock to investors including Allen & Company Inc.
After giving effect to the private placement, expected to close by next week, the new investors will hold about 15 percent of the company’s current outstanding shares or about 11 percent fully diluted.
Ericsson provides GSM in Indonesia
STOCKHOLM, Sweden-L.M. Ericsson announced it will provide a $150 million Global System for Mobile communications cellular network to P.T. Excelcomindo Pratama, the newest nationwide GSM operator in Indonesia.
Excelcomindo is a joint venture between P.T. Telkomindo of Indonesia, Nynex Corp., Mitsui of Japan and the Asian Infrastructure Fund. This turnkey project, which will go commercial in late 1996, will result in a GSM mobile telephone network providing the latest technology and subscriber services, Ericsson said.
