SAN FRANCISCO-AirTouch Paging, a subsidiary of AirTouch Communications, said it has begun service in Albuquerque, N.M., and its surrounding communities.
“Albuquerque is a key market for us because of its strategic southwestern location,” said Charlie Jackson, president and chief executive officer of AirTouch Paging. “We think our Arizona, Colorado and Texas customers will appreciate our expanded service as they travel throughout the region.”
In related news, U S West Cellular announced it has officially begun doing business under the brand name AirTouch Cellular. The company said it has launched the new brand in its 12-state service area, including most markets in Arizona and New Mexico.
U S West said it will notify its customers of the name change through television, radio, newspaper and billboard advertising, bill inserts and direct mail.
