PACT TECHNOLOGY FORUM IS CREATED

SAN DIEGO-Supporters of personal Air Communications Technology have created a pACT Vendor Forum to “enable, support and promote the adoption of the pACT two-way narrowband [personal communications services] standard worldwide,” announced Pacific Communications Sciences Inc. of San Diego.

To date, 24 companies have joined the not-for-profit association.

The pACT technology is a two-way messaging protocol and system specification for narrowband PCS based on the Internet Protocol and optimized for high volume, low-cost two-way messaging applications including alphanumeric, acknowledgment and voice paging, two-way messaging and wireless Internet access.
