PAGEMART WIRELESS APPOINTS TWO NEW PCS VICE PRESIDENTS

DALLAS-PageMart Wireless Inc. appointed two new vice presidents to head strategic planning and business development for its narrowband personal communications services.

N. Ross Buckenham will serve as VP and general manager of PCS. Wayne Stargardt has been named VP of PCS business development to oversee market development and launch of new two-way products and services.

Buckenham is the former president and chief executive officer of Touchstone Solutions Inc., an interactive voice response and telecommunications software and services company. Stargardt previously served as VP of marketing for Pinpoint Communications Inc., a mobile data venture.

PageMart said it will begin technical testing of its two-way technology later this year and plans to conduct beta tests with customers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area in early 1997.

“Our goal is to leverage PageMart’s nationwide FLEX network and our powerful marketing and distribution assets to develop and deliver NPCS products and services to the mass markets,” Buckenham said. “To accomplish that goal, we intend to apply to NPCS the same standards of quality and coverage that distinguish us as industry leaders in our one-way business.”

One way the company said it intends to differentiate its services is by working closely with software developers to integrate and design application specific software for target markets.
