ALISO VIEJO, Calif.-Smith Micro Software Inc. announced it has added HotFax Message Center, which features integrated voice messaging capabilities, to its HotFax communications software.
HotFax MessageCenter includes both a 32-bit and 16-bit version capable of use with Windows 95, Windows NT or Windows 3.1x. It provides full support for data and fax communications and sending messages to an alphanumeric or numeric pager. Together with a voice modem, HotFax MessageCenter provides a complete voice mail system with customizable mailboxes and can record voice e-mail that can be sent over the Internet, the company said.
“We’ve seen increasing demand for voice functionality with our communications products,” said Robert Caggiano, vice president of sales and marketing for Smith Micro Software. “Bringing voice capabilities to our HotFax product makes HotFax MessageCenter the ideal solution for powerful, versatile communications.”
Voice mail message playback can be played through speakers connected to the modem or through and existing sound card. Voice mail can also be retrieved at a remote location be dialing into the system and entering a password.
A voice mail log captures Caller ID information if the caller hangs up without leaving a message, and the system can be configured to include music on hold, and call monitoring while the caller is leaving a message.
Fax capabilities include mailboxes configured to provide fax on demand services that automatically construct a directory of available faxes.
