FORT WORTH, Texas-Uniden America Corp. said that the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit dismissed an appeal filed by Peter Tsakanikas and his company, Tsakanikas Global Technologies Inc., which accused Uniden of patent infringement.
The U.S. District Court in Maryland in May issued a summary judgment decision that dismissed all claims of patent infringement that Tsakanikas of Florida alleged against Uniden of Fort Worth, Texas, said the company.
According to Uniden, Tsakanikas’ charge of infringement on his patent 4,427,848 is not unlike other allegations of patent infringement he has registered against other cellular phone manufacturers. Uniden said it believes his claims of infringement were frivolous.
