NATURAL MICROSYSTEMS OFFERS ENHANCED PROCESSOR FOR SS7

SAN FRANCISCO-Natural Microsystems Corp. announced an enhanced version of the TX2000, a high performance communications processor, in an effort to integrate the core SS7 technology gained in its recent acquisition of TEKnique Inc.

The new version of the TX2000 adds a dual-T1 interface, which enables transmission of both voice and data over a T1 line. The enhancement provides a digital connection for SS7 and voice, further enabling the development of scalable solutions for intensive wireless infrastructure and intelligent network signaling applications.

“We have moved very quickly to integrate TEKnique’s core technology into our product line,” said Allen Carney, vice president of marketing and business development at Natural Microsystems. “By adding SS7 technology to our product family, we can provide our customer base with a single vendor solution for a very high percentage of their wireless infrastructure technology.”

The company also announced it has expanded its Wireless Telephony Platform with two new products: the Alliance Generation Quad T1/E1 and the Alliance Generation-8 with 4 wire E&M. The AG-Quad T1/E1 enables wireless service providers to build less expensive mini mobile switching centers and wireless local loop switching offices. The AG-8 4 wire E&M provides a flexible means of connecting wireless base station controllers to various telecommunications circuits, including analog radio, microwave and private branch exchanges.

Natural Microsystems, based in Natick, Mass., provides open telecommunications technology for the wireless and intelligent network markets.
