Editor’s Note: The RCR editorial staff has compiled this list of terrestrial-based, two-way mobile data operators based on interviews with industry contacts. The chart is arranged alphabetically since many of the companies are just starting to offer services.
Although most cellular and specialized mobile radio carriers offer some type of circuit-switched mobile data, RCR has focused on those companies that have indicated a major commitment to mobile data services.
Sprint Cellular Co. is listed this year as 3600 Communications. Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems, US West New Vector Group Inc. and Vanguard Cellular Systems Inc. have been added to the list.
