EARNINGS DIGEST: ERICSSON REPORTS SALES ARE UP 19%

STOCKHOLM, Sweden-L.M. Ericsson reported net sales of $4.28 billion for the third quarter ended Sept. 30, up 19 percent from net sales of $3.59 billion during the third quarter 1995. Net sales for the first three quarters were $11.87 billion, an increase of 17 percent from $10.16 billion for the same period last year.

Net income for the third quarter increased 26 percent to $208.76 million from $165.49 million for the third quarter last year.

PageNet revenues increase for 3Q

DALLAS-Paging Network Inc. reported net revenues for the third quarter ended Sept. 30 increased 24 percent to $181 million from $146 million for the third quarter 1995. Net revenues for the first three quarters of 1996 were $516 million compared with net revenues of $396 million for the same period last year.

Net loss for the third quarter 1996 was $22 million, or 21 cents per share, compared with a net loss of $10 million, or 10 cents per share, during the third quarter 1995. Net loss for the nine-month period was $53 million, or 51 cents per share, compared with a net loss of $33 million, or 32 cents per share, for the same period last year.

InterCel income reported for 3Q

WEST POINT, Ga.-InterCel Inc. reported net income for the third quarter 1996 was $60,000, or less than 1 cent per share, compared with third quarter 1995 net income of $788,000, or 8 cents per share. Total net loss for the first three quarters was $860,000, or 3 cents per share, compared with a net income of $2.4 million, or 23 cents per share, for the same period last year.

Third quarter revenues grew to $9.1 million, compared with third quarter 1995 revenues of $8 million.

Centennial Cellular releases earnings

NEW CANAAN, Conn.-Centennial Cellular Corp. announced revenues for its first quarter ended Oct. 11 were $32.4 million, up 20 percent from revenues of $27 million in the first fiscal quarter of 1995.

Net loss for the three-month period was $6 million, or 36 cents per share, compared with a $3.4 million net loss, or 25 cents per share, last year.
