AT DEADLINE: CELLULAR ONE OFFERS INTERNET SERVICE

Cellular One launched its Internet service in the Washington/Baltimore region. The service allows subscribers to surf, receive e-mail and browse news groups for $20 a month.

Included in the price is NetScape Personal Edition 2.02 software and free connection and set-up.

“About 85 percent of Americans have yet to subscribe to an Internet access service, largely because they don’t know how to get online or are worried about the high prices that were common in the past,” said Steve Sitton, president and general manager of Cellular One.
