REDWOOD CITY, Calif.-California Microwave Inc. sold its Digital Radio Technology Inc. unit to Harris Corp. Terms of the arrangement were not disclosed.
Digital Radio Technology was founded in 1994 to pursue opportunities in air-to-ground communications systems using digital radios, the company said. California Microwave purchased a majority interest in the company last year.
“While (Digital Radio Technology) participates in an interesting area of the wireless communications market, we determined that its business was not a good fit with our strategic plans,” said Philip F. Otto, chairman and chief executive officer of California Microwave. “The divestiture of (Digital Radio Technology) will allow California Microwave to focus more fully on its core businesses.”
