HELSINKI, Finland- Beijing Nokia Mobile Telecommunications Ltd. and the Fujian Post and Telecommunications Administration have signed an expansion contract for increased capacity, enhanced coverage and improved technology in Fujian and in China.
The contract is valued at more than $80 million.
Nokia said it will deliver increased subscriber capacity using digital Global System for Mobile communications systems. The network also will offer the first commercially available Chinese Short Message Service.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin at the end of this year.
