PORTACOM GETS OK TO REINCORPORATE

PLAYA DEL REY, Calif.-PortaCom Wireless Inc. received shareholder approval to reincorporate from British Columbia to Delaware. More than 6.4 million shares were voted in favor of reincorporation, while less than 11,000 shares voted against reincorporation, the company said.

Shareholders in the British Columbia company will be entitled to receive a new share certificate for an identical number of shares in the Delaware company. The company’s stock will continue to trade on the Vancouver Stock Exchange.

“The move to Delaware, which is home to a number of Fortune 500 companies, is an important part of our strategy to position PortaCom as a recognized player in the global telecommunications industry,” said Douglas C. MacLellan, president of PortaCom.
