NEW YORK-Millicom International Cellular S.A. said its fourth quarter 1996 worldwide operations had record subscriber growth, adding more than 85,000 net new cellular subscribers. The company had a total of 504,440 subscribers at the end of the quarter, an 101 percent increase compared with 251,277 subscribers at the end of 1995.
Millicom develops and operators cellular telephone services in Latin America, Asia, Europe and Africa.
