ATLANTA-BellSouth Cellular Corp. deployed its Mobile America prepaid calling card program in Bakersfield, Calif., and Mobile, Ala.
The program allows consumers to purchase a Mobile America prepaid card in 10-, 30- and 60-minute increments. To access BellSouth’s cellular network, customers dial *888 on any cellular phone and enter the card number.
Airtime is debited from the card balance as soon as a call is connected, and callers are informed of their remaining airtime at the beginning of each call.
Customers can opt either to purchase a new card or to replenish their card by visiting a BellSouth retail partner or by calling the Mobile America customer service line.
