SUNNYVALE, Calif.-American Phoenix Group Inc. announced the creation of Tetherless Access New Zealand Ltd. to supply data communications services to New Zealand companies.
The company will be headed by Greg Cross, former managing director of Microsoft New Zealand and general manager of sales and marketing for BellSouth Corp.
“TAL New Zealand will capitalize on the rapidly increasing demand for high speed Internet connections and the growing number of Wide Area Networks that share information between distributed business locations and customers,” said Cross. “We expect our first customers to be on board in February.”
Sunnyvale, Calif.-based American Phoenix, which is changing its name to TAL Wireless Networks Inc., provides wireless data communications services to customers primarily in developing economies through joint ventures.
