AT DEADLINE: PCS IS LAUNCHED BY NEVADA BELL: AERIAL ANNOUNCES RETAIL AGREEMENTS

Nevada Bell Mobile Services launched its personal communications services network in Las Vegas. The system uses Global System for Mobile communications technology.

The company is offering four calling plans that range from $20 a month to $90 a month. The lowest-priced plan includes 20 minutes of free airtime with additional airtime priced at 40 cents per minute, while the most expensive plan includes 330 minutes of free airtime with additional airtime priced at 20 cents per minute.

Each plan includes caller ID, call waiting, call forwarding, call hold and conference calling. Long-distance calls are 15 cents per minute in addition to airtime charges. There will be no charge to receive pages.

Aerial Communications Inc. announced handset distribution agreements with Best Buy, Circuit City, Office Depot, Office Max and Radio Shack.The agreements call for handsets for Aerial’s personal communications services network to be sold in nearly 240 retail locations in Aerial’s six markets, which include Columbus, Ohio, Houston, Kansas City, Mo., Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn., Pittsburgh and Tampa/St. Petersburg/Orlando, Fla.
