LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill.-Ardis extended its nationwide wireless data network to include 13 new cities. The company also extended 19.2 kilobits per second coverage to five new cities and added PowerSave capabilities to the network.
The new coverage areas include Panama City, Fla., Ottawa, Ill., Hamlet, N.C., and Bruceton, Tenn. The extended 19.2 kbps capability covers Los Angeles, Detroit, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Raleigh, N.C.
The PowerSave function, which the company im-plemented throughout its network, extends battery life four to six times, according to Ardis.
The company also relocated its Network Management Center from Lexington, Ky., to Lincolnshire, Ill.
The center’s close proximity to the company’s customer care center will allow closer coordination and communication between the two, Ardis said.
