WARREN, N.J.-Lucent Technologies Inc. and Saville Systems have agreed to co-market Lucent’s software applications with the Saville Convergent Billing Platform, according to a general teaming agreement.
The resulting end-to-end billing and customer care system will be able to collect call detail records from the network in near real-time, validate and rate a customer’s network usage and calculate and produce a bill. The system also will make customers’ account information available to service representatives for billing inquiries, support bill treatment and collection activities and automate clerical functions such as generating past-due letters.
“This agreement makes it easier for some of our customers to put together a complete billing and customer care system from two leading software vendors,” said Dave Donohue, applications software director for Lucent.
“Using a leading-edge billing system like Saville CBP allows service providers to take advantage of vital customer information, including their usage patterns, to develop and implement innovative convergent products and services tailored to the individual user’s profile.”
