John Walier will manage customer sales accounts in Glenayre Western Multiplex’s northeast region. He will focus on customers of the company’s wireless interconnect products, primarily the Lynx family of spread spectrum microwave radios. Prior to joining Glenayre, Walier spent nine years with Microwave Data Systems.

IFR Systems Inc. named John Bobetsky director of business development for the company’s test and measurement product line. Bobetsky has 26 years of experience in sales, marketing, customer service and engineering. Most recently, he served as vice president of commercial sales and marketing for Dorne and Margolin, a New York-based manufacturer of antennas and RF products for various wireless markets.

Conxus Communications named Stephen Cook chief operating officer. He has nine years of experience in the cellular industry, mainly in general management, marketing and distribution. Cook most recently was president of GTE MobilNet’s mid-south region. Prior to that, he held management positions at Procter & Gamble.

Omnipoint Communications Inc. appointed Anne Patrick and Roger Wood technical directors for the New England region. They will be responsible for network construction in several of the company’s basic trading areas. Patrick will manage the buildout in southern New England, including Rhode Island, western Massachusetts, Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard and Cape Cod. Patrick joins Omnipoint after 25 years with Pacific Bell. Wood will be in charge of the northern New England buildout including New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. Most recently, Wood was Omnipoint’s director of business relations responsible for all strategic developments.

Comcast Metrophone promoted Mark Style and Mauro Panzera to directors. Style is director of strategic marketing and research, where he will be responsible for the company’s market research efforts. Formerly, Styles was a marketing manager and has held management positions in business development and finance. Prior to joining Comcast, Style worked for Procter & Gamble in financial and cost analysis positions. Panzera was promoted to director of marketing promotions with responsibility for designing and implementing all the company’s promotional strategies including joint marketing efforts, the company’s retail partners and exclusive agent network and promotions for the company’s direct retail outlets. Most recently, Panzera was a manager of business development with Comcast International.
