MONTVALE, N.J.-Geotek Communications Inc. said it plans to launch its Frequency Hopping Multiple Access network in the Tampa, Fla., market on April 30. Tampa will be Geotek’s ninth major metropolitan market and its third in Florida, the company said.
The company also said it met its first quarter goal of loading more than 2,000 paging subscribers on the network, bringing its total number of users on the network to more than 3,200.
The company offers wireless voice and packet data services using its mobile workstations and PC Dispatch station.
Geotek is targeting more than 22,000 businesses in the field service, distribution, transportation and contracting industries in Tampa. “With our suite of products, mobile workers can spend more time on the road and less time in the office,” commented Michael McCoy, president and chief executive officer of Geotek USA.
