DALLAS-PageMart Wireless Inc. entered into a five-year strategic alliance with First Cellular of Southern Illinois. Under the terms of the agreement, First Cellular will deploy additional paging transmitters on the PageMart network, enhancing PageMart’s coverage area in the First Cellular market while providing PageMart customers with matching cellular and paging coverage. First Cellular will resell paging services on the PageMart network throughout its southern Illinois coverage area.
“This partnership provides a complete wireless package for First Cellular customers, allowing them to have robust paging and cellular services though one comprehensive provider,” said Andrew Weisheit, director of strategic alliances for PageMart. ‘
First Cellular maintains a network that includes coverage in 24 southern Illinois counties.
PageMart said it provides wireless messaging services for more than 2 million customers and deploys direct broadcast satellite technology to provide numeric and text messaging services in all 50 states, Canada, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the Bahamas.
