DSPC SAYS LAWSUIT HAS NO SUBSTANCE

CUPERTINO, Calif.-DSP Communications Inc. said four individuals have filed a shareholder class action lawsuit against it and several of its officers and directors in California state court.

The lawsuit alleges violations of California corporate securities law in connection with forward looking statements about the company, allegedly made during the first quarter of this year.

DSPC said it believes the complaint contains false allegations and that no basis exists for the action.

DSPC writes software for application-specific integrated circuits and digital signal processors for communications equipment.

In January, the company said it expected to see continued growth in 1997 and 1998, when the company may reap rewards from its new product, a wireless branch exchange system.
