WAYNE, Pa.-Comcast Cellular Communications Inc. offered free cellular phones to lifeguards on New Jersey and Delaware beaches in an effort to make the Memorial Day holiday a safe one, said the company.
Comcast’s Lifeline program began last summer in Ventnor, N.J., where more than a dozen lifeguards now keep the specially designed phones at their stands. Comcast provides free 911 service and a free cellular number to link the lifeguards to the lifeguard headquarters in case of an emergency.
