MOTOROLA EXPANDS CHINESE CONTRACT

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.-Motorola Inc.’s Cellular Infrastructure Group won a contract to expand the analog cellular Total Access Communications System in China’s Shandong province. Motorola values the contract at more than $50 million.

The contract with Shandong Posts and Telecommunications calls for Motorola to upgrade cell site equipment and deploy additional LD-TACS base stations. Motorola also agreed to install new Electronic Mobile Exchange switches, which will replace smaller capacity switches currently in use.
