OMNITEL ANNOUNCES FIRM RESTRUCTURING

MILAN-Omnitel Pronto Italia announced it has restructured itself into two divisions, which separately will address the needs of individual and corporate users.

Each new division will have commercial, marketing, product development, logistics and purchasing functions. Currently, Omnitel offers 12 rate plans, eight that dedicated to individual users.

Vincenzo Novari, who previously was responsible for introducing new products and services, will head up the individual users unit, which will include both personal and business users. The corporate division will be led by Arturo Artom, who previously worked with Telesystem, a local phone services company. Both divisions will report to company chief operating officer Vittorio Colao.

The Global System for Mobile communications operator said it previously focused its marketing efforts on establishing brand name and “fighting the status symbol imagery linked to cellular phones.”
