AUSTIN, Texas-Qualcomm Inc. donated 125 Code Division Multiple Access digital phones to aid in relief efforts after tornadoes destroyed neighborhoods in Jarrell, Texas, in a joint effort with Sprint PCS.
The donation includes 100 of Qualcomm’s QCT-1200 fixed wireless phones and 25 QCP-1900 personal communications services handsets. The phones will be made available to residents who lost their homes and do not have access to basic telephone service. Phones also will be given to local officials including police and Red Cross workers.
