BRISTOL, England-Orange plc is introducing a number of communications services packages that address multiple user groups.
The new services, which will be available within the next month, include simultaneous voice and text messaging with a number of users, conference calling and sharing of call plans, said the U.K.-based personal communications services operator.
“We believe that (the new services) will have considerable relevance to the business market and our research indicates that they will appeal to a broad range of small- to medium-sized businesses,” said Robert Fallow, group director of marketing for Orange.
Orange’s Group Answer Phone allows simultaneous voice messaging to as many as 25 other Orange subscribers’ phones. Group Text Messaging provides users simultaneous text messaging to up to 25 different Orange phones. Conference Call allows six people to talk together and Talkshare Plus allows up to 50 users to share a single Talk Plan.
These new services “take mobile phone usage into new territory, extending it from person to person communication to communication by one to many and by many to many people,” said Orange.
Last fall, Orange introduced Talkshare, which allows two Orange subscribers to share one Talk Plan. Through this promotion, Orange received demands for such a service designed for groups. Talkshare Plus for groups will be available next month and will allow up to 50 Orange phones to connect to a single Talk Plan with one bill. Prices will be published later.
“Customers will benefit from savings on the cost of connection and by value for money tariffs and by cost effective Orange to Orange rates. Orange will benefit from greater call volume, attracting new customers and, we believe, strengthening customer loyalty,” added Fallow.
Orange’s new services will be advertised on television, radio, billboard and in print>
