WINSTAR WINS FOUR 38 GHZ LICENSES

NEW YORK-The Federal Communications Commission granted four additional 38 GHz licenses to Winstar Communications Inc., covering Las Vegas, Honolulu, Mobile, Ala., and Denver.

The company filed for the licenses before the FCC stopped accepting new applications for 38 GHz spectrum in late 1995. The company now has 600 MHz of bandwidth in Denver, including Fort Collins, Colo.

Winstar said it has 700 MHz of bandwidth in the New York City market and between 400 MHz and 600 MHz of bandwidth in most of the top 50 U.S. Markets.
