ERICSSON WINS GSM CENTRAL ASIA ORDER

STOCKHOLM, Sweden-Ericsson Inc. announced it signed its first Global System for Mobile communications contract in Central Asia with Daewoo Central Paging Cooperation, a wholly owned subsidiary of South Korea-based Daewoo, to provide network infrastructure in Uzbekistan.

Under the contract, valued at about $8 million, Ericsson will provide GSM base stations, AXE switching equipment and service solutions for installations.
