DULUTH, Ga.-Astronet Corp., a Mitsubishi Electric America company, said it has completed its move from Lake Mary, Florida, to Duluth, Ga. By moving to Georgia, Astronet was able to consolidate a number of its administrative and manufacturing functions with those of Mitsubishi Wireless Communications Inc., which recently moved to Duluth from Braselton, where Mitsubishi has a large manufacturing facility.
Astronet originally was a joint venture between Siemens Stromberg-Carlson and Mitsubishi. In 1994, Mitsubishi purchased all of the outstanding shares of Astronet. Astronet said the purchase facilitated the building of strong alliances between other MEA companies that manufacture products in Braselton, Ga.
“The move from Florida to Georgia will further enhance the synergy between our people, products and resources,” said Stu Sakai, president and chief executive officer of Astronet.
