KANSAS CITY, Mo.-Thomas M. Dougherty was promoted to regional president for Sprint Spectrum L.P.’s next phase of Sprint PCS market launches, expected to begin next year.
In Dougherty’s new role, he will be responsible for the deployment of Sprint PCS service in Atlanta, Chicago, Houston and major markets in northern Florida, Ohio and the Carolinas. He will report to Chief Operating Officer Al Kurtze.
Dougherty most recently was vice president of Sprint PCS’ business development group, and prior to joining Sprint PCS, Dougherty was executive vice president and COO for start-up PCS license holder Chase Telecommunications.
From 1983 to 1996, Dougherty held a number of executive posts for BellSouth Corp., including vice president and COO of BellSouth Personal Communications, where he led the company’s wireless business unit.
