ILL. SUPERCONDUCTOR SYSTEM INSTALLED

MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill.-Illinois Superconductor Corp. will begin the first three installations of its RangeMaster filter system this month, under a planned 15 cell site purchase by a regional Bell company that is one of the 10 largest cellular operators in the country, the company said.

The operator has a customer base of more than 3 million subscribers and pops in the tens of millions.

Ted Laves, president and chief executive officer, said RangeMaster has been proven to extend coverage by up to 30 percent, describing the filter system as “an attractive, cost-effective alternative for operators wanting to improve portable subscriber performance in mid-sized and rural markets.”

Illinois Superconductor develops radio-frequency components to improve signal transmission in the personal communications services, cellular and other wireless markets. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
