ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.-Vicorp, a subsidiary of Precision Systems Inc., will provide its UniPort enhanced services platform to Northern Telecom Inc., announced Precision. Under the five-year contract, Nortel will use Vicorp’s UniPort in its ServiceBuilder intelligent network portfolio.
UniPort is a Unix-based call processing engine that provides interactive voice response, conferencing, voice recognition and fax services. It also supports multiple networking protocols, which enables the engine to be used worldwide, Vicorp said.
Carriers can use UniPort’s features to create enhanced services such as prepaid wireless and other applications, the company said.
