CEDAR KNOLLS, N.J.-Omnipoint last week announced the availability of the Nokia 9000i Communicator in its retail stores.
The digital handset allows users to browse the Internet and access corporate and public databases, and send and receive faxes, e-mail, short text messages and voice calls. Nokia Corp.’s 9000i also includes organizational databases, such as an appointment calendar, contact list and “To Do” list.
“The Nokia 9000i Communicator is the ultimate tool for the person who needs to stay in touch with the home and office without carrying several devices,” said George Schmitt, president of Omnipoint. “Because the Nokia 9000i Communicator is available from Omnipoint, customers can be assured that this advanced handset’s capabilities will be fully supported by our advanced network, based on Global System for Mobile communications technology.”
The Nokia 9000i will retail for $999, and customers who buy the Nokia handset from Omnipoint before the end of January will receive an extra lithium-ion battery and a leather case with a belt clip.
