ERICSSON TO EXPAND JAPAN NETWORKS

STOCKHOLM, Sweden-L.M. Ericsson signed two agreements for mobile network expansions, valued at more than $44 million, with Central Japan Digital Phone Co. Ltd.

The agreements include expansion of both the base station network and existing mobile switching centers. Ericsson and CDP also signed a new central support agreement valid through March 2000.

CDP is one of three mobile operators in the Digital Phone Group licensed to operate a PDC 1500 MHz network in the Tokai region, where Nagoya is the main city.
