MTS TO SUPPLY CANADIAN POLICE WITH TWO-WAY RADIO

WINNIPEG, Canada-MTS Mobility, the Province of Manitoba and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police signed a 10-year, $60 million contract calling for MTS to provide the police force with province-wide FleetNet service.

FleetNet is an enhanced, trunked radio dispatch network with more features and flexibility than existing private radio networks, said MTS. MTS will use Motorola Inc.’s Astro trunked two-way radio technology. The contract is the second phase of the company’s province-wide plan.
