KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.-InterDigital Communications Corp. announced it selected Texas Instruments Inc. to manufacture a custom chip based on InterDigital’s broadband Code Division Multiple Access technology.
InterDigital intends to use the integrated circuits in base stations and subscriber terminals for wireless local loop products, and later, in personal communications services applications, the company said.
This follows InterDigital’s recent announcement of an across-the-board spending cut of 20 percent and plans to primarily focus on its B-CDMA technology.
InterDigital develops and markets wireless telecommunications systems for voice and data communications.
