MOTOROLA GSM M-CELL SMALL, LIGHT, FLEXIBLE

CANNES, France-Motorola Inc.’s Cellular Infrastructure Group introduced a Global System for Mobile communications base station for in-building networks, the smallest and lightest base transceiver station to date for GSM microcellular applications, said the company.

Motorola’s M-Cell access base station uses distributed architecture to provide a flexible, high-capacity and cost-effective solution to support in-building subscriber demand, said the company.

For microcellular coverage, the new M-Cell arena is the company’s third generation of two-carrier microcellular base stations designed to provide targeted capacity and high-quality coverage in areas of high subscriber demand. M-Cell arena also offers Synthesizer Frequency Hopping, which can increase network capacity by aggressively reusing frequency, said the company.

Motorola also introduced a range of GSM 900 MHz and GSM 1800 MHz fixed wireless terminals.
