NOVATEL OFFERS HANDHELD COMPUTER

PHOENIX-Novatel Wireless Inc. plans to exhibit at the Wireless ’98 show in Atlanta a handheld personal computer with a built-in Cellular Digital Packet Data wireless and landline modem. This is the first such product on the market, according to Novatel.

The Contact computer provides mobile users with connectivity to corporate information systems from virtually anywhere, said Novatel, facilitating two-way mobile-data exchange in sales, field and mobile work environments.

Also on display at the Novatel booth are Minstrel, the company’s snap-on extension for the PalmPilot enabling wireless communications; and Sage, an external wireless modem for desktop and laptop computers.
