DANIELS & ASSOCIATES OFFERS 1997 TRANSACTION WRAP-UP

DENVER-Daniels & Associates, an investment banking and financial services company specializing in media and telecommunications, announced its telecommunications group completed 20 transactions during 1997, including 15 mergers and acquisitions and five other engagements, valued at $907 million.

The Daniels telecom group is a specialized team that works exclusively with clients in cellular, paging, specialized mobile radio, tower, long distance and related sectors. In one of the group’s engagements last year, it represented Metrocall Inc. in its acquisition of ProNet Inc., creating the second-largest U.S. paging company.

The group also completed other paging transactions, including representing Mercury Paging & Communications Inc. of New York in its sale to Preferred Networks Inc., and representing Page America Group Inc. in its sale to Metrocall.

Cellular transactions for the Daniels telecom group included representing Desert Telecommunications L.P. in its sale to a partnership controlled by AirTouch Communications, representing CommNet Cellular Inc. in its acquisition of interest in Iowa RSA No. 13 L.P. from 360
